On-street parking rules
On-street parking in Swindon is controlled in many areas. Always check the signs: they show time limits, permit holder only, loading restrictions, or no parking at all. Yellow lines mean waiting restrictions (single = no waiting at certain times; double = no waiting at any time unless there are time plates). Ignoring signs can lead to a parking fine (PCN).
Car park rules
Council car parks have their own rules, including maximum stay and how you pay. From 21st June 2026, town-centre and Old Town council car parks charge Monday to Sunday. Resident permits
