Is parking free on Sundays in Swindon?

Many of Swindon’s council-run car parks and on-street bays do not charge on Sundays and bank holidays – but not all. Restrictions and charges can vary by location. Always check the signs at the car park or street before you leave your car.

Council car parks and on-street

Swindon Borough Council’s typical pattern has been to charge Monday–Saturday and not charge on Sundays and bank holidays at many town centre and on-street locations. This can change – the council can introduce or extend charging. The only way to be sure is to read the tariff sign at the car park or bay, or check the council’s parking pages for the latest.

Private car parks

Private car parks (e.g. at the Designer Outlet, retail parks) set their own rules. Some are free on Sundays; others charge every day. Always check the operator’s sign. See Parking in Swindon for an overview of where to park and parking rules in Swindon for restrictions.
