What to expect
The museum's collection spans early computers, classic games consoles, calculators, and other digital devices. Many displays are interactive, so visitors can try out vintage hardware and software. The setting is compact but well curated – ideal for an hour or two of exploration, whether you're nostalgic for 80s and 90s tech or introducing younger visitors to computing history.
Location and opening hours
The Museum of Computing is at 6–7 Theatre Square, Swindon, SN1 1QN, between the library and the Wyvern Theatre. It's about a 14-minute walk from Swindon station. Opening is typically on Saturdays (e.g. 9:30am–5pm, last admission around 4:15pm). Admission
Admission is charged. Typical prices (check the website for current rates) are around £5 for adults, £3 for under-16s and concessions, free for under-5s, and family tickets available. Contact the museum for group and school visit arrangements.
