Swindon's local bus network is run by Swindon's Bus Company, part of Go South Coast and the Go-Ahead Group. Stagecoach also runs some routes in town. Buses serve the town centre, suburbs, and surrounding areas including Wroughton, Highworth, and Blunsdon. Operator and network

Swindon's Bus Company (formerly Thamesdown Transport) operates most local services. The network includes town routes, park & ride, and services to neighbouring towns and villages.

Ticket types

From 30 August 2026, an adult day ticket on Swindon's Bus Company is £5.40 if you buy it on the bus and £5.30 in the app. A young person's day ticket (16 to 19) is £4.30. A child day ticket is £3.80. A family day ticket for two adults and three children is £9.60. Single fares are capped at £3 under the Department for Transport scheme. The full table is on the 30 August fare change.

Concessionary travel

Eligible older people and disabled passengers can get free off-peak bus travel in England with an English National Concessionary Travel Pass. In Swindon, free travel is from 9.30am to 11pm on weekdays, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. People who are blind can use a pass at any time in Swindon. Apply via Swindon Borough Council.
