Lydiard parkrun
Lydiard parkrun is a free, weekly 5k event held every Saturday at 9am in Lydiard Park. It's open to everyone – run, jog, walk, or volunteer. You need to register before your first event and bring a scannable barcode. After each run, many participants head to the Forest Cafe for coffee. The event is entirely volunteer-run – to help out, email lydiard@parkrun.com. Full details at parkrun.org.uk/lydiard.

Getting started
If you're new to running, Lydiard parkrun is a great place to start – it's free, friendly, and you can walk the whole 5k if you prefer. Run JB specialises in beginners. For more structured training and races, join a club – most offer trial runs or taster sessions.
